Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you call your worship experiences “gatherings”?
Because that’s what they are! They’re a time for real people to gather from all different spheres of life to connect with God and others. Plus, “services” sounds kind of boring.
What can I expect at a gathering?
To be welcomed just as you are by people like you. The atmosphere is comfortable but moving, with worship from our band, a chance to connect with people around you, and a passionate and meaningful message.
How long will it last?
Our gatherings last about 1 hour. However, you can always stick around for a few minutes for refreshments and to meet our pastors and band.
When & where do you meet?

What should I wear?
Whatever you’d like.
What will happen at the end of the gathering?
At Anchor Gaslamp, we believe in the power of responding to God; yet we respect the fact that each person who joins us is at a different stage of spiritual openness. Sometimes there’s an invitation to step forward to deepen our commitment to what we’ve heard and felt. Often, we simply pray and embrace the challenge to live out the truth we’ve heard during the coming week. Either way, no one is ever forced or manipulated into responding; it’s a personal decision.
Is Anchor Gaslamp part of a denomination?
Anchor Gaslamp is not part of a denomination; but we are connected with a body of churches that focus on conveying the truths emphasized in the Bible, while believing that the entirety of God’s power and purpose remains relevant to the church today.
